TRAGEDY TODAY AT WALPOLE MIDDLE SCHOOL
A 14 year-old Walpole 8th grade student, Hunter Mack, shot himself in a crowded cafeteria shortly before noon today and has been transported by medivac helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. I am aware of no further public medical reports on Hunter at this time. No other students or teachers were injured. Police immediately locked down the school, administrators notified parents to come for their children and provided counseling for distraught students and staff. Principal Sam Jacobs said in a short press conference that he had been in the room when the incident happened. Jacobs also said that the school would be contacting parents later today about further counseling availabilities over the weekend. CCB
