POSITION OPENING: POLICE DEPARTMENT SECRETARY
40 hours per week
Salary $25,000 - $29,000 depending on experience.
The secretary is responsible for providing general administrative and secretarial support to a department of three full time officers and eight part time officers. Confidentiality will be strictly adhered to. Applicant will be required to process incoming and outgoing correspondence and reports, handle all telephone inquires, handle emergency dispatching as required, maintain filing system, and handle other administrative duties deemed necessary. Must be able to type 50 words per minute, have knowledge of computers, possess excellent interpersonal skills and professional telephone etiquette, work well with others, and must be able to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions. The employee will be responsible through the chain of command to the Police Chief.
