Ed. Note: I am delighted to pass along this notice of the Windham World Affairs Council's first program of the fall set for next Friday evening. It's a great opportunity to hear one of the western world's most respected experts on China at a crucial time in our history. Note that the first Presidential Debate is also set for Friday evening at 9:00 EDT. This World Affairs program, which was set long before the debate dates were set, has been rescheduled earlier--7:00 p.m.--to enable us to attend it AND to get home in time to see the debate.

The Windham World Affairs Council is one of the most valuable organizations in the area and brings in the nation's most respected foreign affairs experts to share their knowledge with us. The Council hopes you'll make attendance at their programs a priority for yourself and your family members. At the 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. refreshment session, the Council hopes to sign up all of us to a year's membership in the Council.

Note also that the second Council program of the fall is October 10 with Ambassador Peter Galbraith speaking on the current situation in Iraq. Call me at 756-9268 with any questions. CCB
