This note from Marche Brown: Items from Ken Burns New Ducomentary "The War" Raffled for Local Organizations
Walpole's own Ken Burn's and Florentine Films' "The War" began to air on PBS this week. A raffle for the benefit of Bridge Wilson American Legion Post, Walpole Historical Society and Fall Mountain Endowment for the Arts is nearly over. The prizes are three sets of autographed, personalized copies of the book, DVD, and poster that are produced in conjunction with the documentary. Raffle tickets, 2 for $5.00, will be available on Saturday, September 29 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Walpole Historical Society's Museum and Shop and at the Cemetery walk to be held at the town cemetery on October 6 at 2:00. Both events are free and open to the public. Winners will be chosen on October 7th. The winners of the prizes will be able to specify personalized messages on the items donated by Ken Burns and Florentine Films.
