At 5:55 p.m. Walpole writer Stephanie Montgomery has a five-minute commentary about her recent experience teaching in the women's prison in Windsor, VT on Vermont Public Radio, WNCR, at 88.1 FM.  Stepanie's a terrific writer, and you can, as an alternative, read about her experience at the following web site. http://www.memoircafe.com/mmc_steph_drawer_display.php?which_stephanie_drawer=31.

At 7:30 at Town Hall, the Selectmen hold their regular weekly meeting.  Tentatively there will be discussion of the long-running Merriam Road property development dispute and consideration of the Zoning Board's referral of the AlpacaDance/Wentworth Road zoning violation matter to the Select Board.  In the first matter, developers have been trying for some time to persuade the Board to upgrade a Class 6 road in their property to a Class 5 road (one which the Town would have to maintain). The selectmen have repeatedly told the developers that they will not make the decision for Walpole and will only make the change if the Town as a whole votes for it.

In the AlpacaDance matter, the Zoning Board referrred a complaint that Creg and Jill Dance have been in violation of several Residential A zoning restrictions for operating a commercial livestock operation, running a shop and bed & breakfast, and hosting weddings and corporate meetings in a residential area.
